Candle  Care

Before burning...

Your first burn is the most important burn. Prior to burning your candle, trim the wick at least ¼ inch. This prevents uneven burning, dripping or flaring. Your first burn should be up to 3-4 hours. Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge.

  • Avoid drafts, vents or air currents.

  • Burn for 2-3 hours each time you light the candle.

  • Trim wicks before each burn.

While burning...

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. If you are going to leave the room, be sure to extinguish all candles first.

  • Never touch or move a burning candle. Never move a candle container when the wax is liquified.

  • Never burn a candle all the way down. Stop burning a candle when there is ¼ inch of wax left in the vessel.

  • Burn your candle away from drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.

  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

When extinguishing...

  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle. This to prevents hot wax from splattering. Available to order here.

  • Before leaving the room, make sure your candle is completely out and there is no glow coming from the wick ember.

  • Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.

Our Crystal Candles take a little more care...

We highly recommend removing the crystals from our crystal infused candles. This is to prevent tunneling and damage to the crystals. To remove your crystal we suggest that once your soy wax is softened after lighting your candle, remove the crystals from the wax and place beside your vessel.

How to remove wax from your vessel...

There are two methods to cleaning your candle vessel. Our vessels are delicate so we do recommend extra care when removing any remaining wax to ensure your vessel is reusable.

HOT WATER METHOD

Boil your jug and add the hot water into your glass vessel. The hot water will make the wax bubble up and rise to the surface. Leave the wax for some time to allow the wax to float to the top and harden. Once the wax has hardened carefully tip out the water and remove the hard wax from the vessel. Repeat the process until there is no more wax on the bottom of the glass. You may need to repeat once again to remove the wick holder. Carefully clean your vessel with warm soapy water then wipe dry with a paper towel.

FREEZER METHOD

Pop your candle into the freezer overnight. This will freeze the left over wax and will shrink it. When you take the candle out of the freezer the wax will easily pop out of the vessel by using a spoon or dull knife. Then all you need to do is clean your holder with a cloth, and it's as good as new!

TIP - You can use the wax that you remove from the vessel as a wax melt in your melt burner.
